This armillary acted as a sculpture piece and a cage for Malvolio. I engineered moving pieces, allowing the sphere to rotate 360 degrees. The largest exterior ring was purchased pre-fabricated, the rest of the rings were bent and welded into circles. The piece was then welded to a structure on top of a giant steel plate. I then fabricated the arrow, which was removed between acts so the actor could climb in. I spray lacquered it gold, sewed in a leather seat and tapped into the steel to allow for handcuffs to be bolted into the frame. The bottom pieces had magnetized plugs that secured the armillary into place under the stage.
